Welcome to Democracy on Main Street!
We are the Culpeper County Democratic Committee. Steadily growing in size and strength, we welcome anyone who believes that all people deserve representation, justice and dignity. Our mission is to help elect representatives who will uphold the Constitution and its protections for all Americans. See you at the polls!
Our general membership meetings are held from 9-11 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month. Meanwhile, visit our office at 411 S. Main St. If the blue flag is flying, we’re open! Questions? Contact us here or at (540) 227-0558.
Results of the April 21 Redistricting Referendum
Thrown Out By Virginia Supreme Court
If the issue was with the timing of the process way back in October, why wasn’t this brought up then? Why did they allow the election to go on at all? Would the court have ruled differently if the referendum results had been different?
All we know is that the Virginia Supreme Court threw out the voice of the people. And in the process, wasted money and time that we can’t get back.
An appeal is being filed, but we assume that this is the end of redistricting this year.
We Are Not Quitting, We Are Not Slowing Down
We stand together in solidarity and determination to make sure that the dark forces at work in our country cannot prevail.
Starting NOW we are redoubling our efforts to organize, to reach voters everywhere they are, using every strategy we know.
The numbers are with us if those who care about democracy can be galvanized to vote.
What does this mean?
The existing Congressional District 7, which includes all of Culpeper County, will stay as it is now.
Congressman Vindman will now run in this district again. At this time we do not know if he will have any primary challengers. We will pass along information as we receive it.
We Need You More Than Ever
To reach voters and motivate them to vote we must each do the things that we can. There are volunteer opportunities for everyone, regardless of your talents, preferences or the amount of time you can manage. Please watch our weekly newsletter (and newsletter archives), our Facebook page, or our events page for some of the many ways you can help.

Candidates Need Petition Signatures AND SUPPORTERS!
Candidates for every seat need signatures to get on the ballot. We have several petitions for Democratic candidates in the office right now.
Please sign them to help Democratic candidates qualify, and to show the strength Democratic candidates bring. Your signature on their ballot petitions is not an endorsement, just a path to ballot inclusion.
CCDC is also offering an optional form for members and supporters who want to share their contact information directly with the Democratic candidates running in the VA-07 primary. CCDC does not share its membership or contact rosters, so this is the only opportunity for candidates to receive your information for direct outreach. Your information will be sent only to the candidates you select. CLICK HERE to open the form.
